RREF Initiatives and Impact
Thanks to the generous donations made to RREF by Rancho families and our community, Rancho can provide critical aid and programs for students such as:

Some programs are fully funded by RREF and others are supplemented when our district only covers a portion of the cost.
In 2024-2025, we plan to operate all existing programs from last year. As additional funding permits, we will look to expand our paraprofessional hours in the classroom as a top priority.
Your financial support of RREF allows our talented teachers and administrators to provide a world-class public education for our kids.

Paraprofessionals
Paraprofessional teachers aid teachers in the classroom and effectively bring down the teacher/student ratios in the classroom. Para teachers help fulfill teacher’s instructional plans as well as support small group reading, writing, and math centers. Para teachers work a regular dedicated schedule each week. In 2023-4 RREF funded the employment of 7 paraprofessional teachers which equaled approximately 8 hours of support per classroom each week.
Reading & Math Intervention
RREF funds a team of 3 teachers and 2 instructional assistants who work together to provide targeted support to students who are facing challenges in Reading or Math. Students are given small group instruction and tutoring to build strong individual skills and confidence upon returning to the classroom.

Math Enrichment
Using teacher’s standardized testing and recommendations, Rancho provides an extracurricular Math Enrichment program for advanced math students at every grade level. RREF funds this program 100%, employing a talented reading specialist, and reaching approximately 65+ students per semester.
Library Resourcing
RREF doubles the number of hours that students have access to the library, which opens up access for all classes to be able to visit the library weekly and access the library 2 days a week during lunch recess for grades 2-5.

Music
RREF funds 100% of Rancho Romero’s Music programs. Students get to attend weekly Music classes with their classmates, learn from Rancho’s talented Music teacher, and participate in school concerts and Art shows.
After School Enrichment
The Rancho Enrichment program offers before and after-school classes for TK-5th grade students covering sports, foreign languages, math enrichment, theater, art, and more!

School Improvements
Since 2021, RREF has funded the construction of the lunch shade structure, resurfacing of the blacktop areas, creating outdoor library reading area, providing umbrellas in the kinder playyard, and most recently construction of the rain structure for 4th & 5th grade pickup area.
Lunchtime Sports
RREF fully funds organized lunchtime sports 4 days a week for students with the goal of enhancing student’s recess time with structured activities that are inclusive, fun, and build confidence and teamwork.

Classroom Technology
RREF is dedicated to bringing the latest modern teaching tools into the learning environment at Rancho such as Smart Boards in every classroom, and best in class teaching software.
